American Idol Season 11’s runner-up, Jessica Sanchez, performed her new single “Tonight” with Ne-Yo at the American Idol stage, last March 21, 2013.
Judges Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban gave her a standing ovation; Mariah was half-seated, perhaps her skirt was too tight again for her to stand?
Ne-Yo is a multi-platinum singer, and their performance got the audience dancing. Could the single become a hit? With Jessica’s fans, who, almost always, create a trend on Twitter for her, they could boost the sales of her new album.
The Blujays trooped to Twitter to express how impressed they were with Jessica’s performance.
It was a great performance but the quality of her voice was not so evident in the song, because it is a fast song. Jessica has been sounding off fans before that she was not really a ballad singer, like Celine Dion, but she should know that many people love her singing those slow sweet ballads because they bring the best in her voice.
Hopefully, her album would be a mix of fast and slow songs, and that she would offer some songs to her fans who love the blues.
Incidentally, American Idol 2013 has a new voting application which would feature all possible things a fan would want to do while voting for their American Idol favorite contestants, such as, casting their AT&T vote directly, reading live tweets, and playing prediction games, among other things.
