MANILA, Philippines – New Year’s Eve 2012 is here again, and so are firecrackers. The Philippine National Police (PNP), however, has reminded everyone not to sell or use the banned firecrackers listed below, or they would be spending New Year’s Eve in jail.
On Twitter, via State of the Nation, here are the banned firecrackers by the PNP.
“Paalala ng PNP, bawal ang pagbebenta ng Watusi, Mother Rockets, Pillbox, Big Bawang, Bin Laden, Goodbye Philippines.
(“Reminder from the PNP, it’s prohibited to sell Watusi, Mother Rockets, Pillbox, Big Bawang, Bin Laden, Goodbye Philippines.”)
“Bawal din ang pagbebenta ng Piccolo, Super Lolo, Lolo Thunder, Kwiton, Atomic Big Triangulo, Kabasi, Pop Pop, at Goodbye Bading.”
(It is also prohibited to sell Piccolo, Super Lolo, Lolo Thunder, Kwiton, Atomic Big Triangulo, Kabasi, Pop Pop, at Goodbye Bading.”)

For violators, the sanctions are: 6 months to one year imprisonment, and a fine of P20, 000 and above. General Alan Purisima, PNP’s Chief warned policemen from using their guns to greet the New Year too. Instead, they are commanded to ensure zero casualties during New Year’s Eve.
Make sure that every member in your family, and your friends, know what are included in the list of banned firecrackers, or they’ll end up spending their night in jail come New Year’s Eve.
