MANILA, Philippines – Nonito Donaire Jr. knocked out Jorge Arce in the 3rd round of their fight on December 15 to retain WBO Super Bantamweight Title.
Nonito Donaire’s triumph makes Filipinos take a second look at this sterling boxer whose successes in the ring have been overshadowed by Manny Pacquiao’s tremendous popularity. Now, Filipinos have an alternative hero to look up to.
Donaire,30, is also known as “The Filipino Flash.” He was the WBC and WBO Bantamweight Champion, and is the WBO and IBF Super Bantamweight Champion.
