The United Nations (UN) has awarded Jorge Fernando Branco Sampaio of Portugal and Dr. Helena Ndume of Namibia the 2015 UN Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize.
According to the UN:
“The Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize is a global call to action for all citizens of the world, to take up the challenge and follow in the formidable footsteps of Madiba; a man who transformed his life, served his country and freed his people,”
The prize is also in observance of the Nelson Mandela International Day. Nelson Mandela was a noble true leader, who has contributed profoundly to his community and the world through his dedicated work in the development and reconciliation of his people.
