MANILA, Philippines – Twitter exploded with political reactions after the news broke about President Rodrigo Duterte revoking the amnesty of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Trillanes had been detained due to several mutiny attempts during the presidency of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

President Duterte signed on August 31, 2018, Proclamation Order No. 572, which revoked the amnesty and thus authorizing the PNP and the law enforcers to be able to arrest Trillanes any time.

It can be recalled that Trillanes has been attacking the current administration with unfounded accusations and charges that up to this day held no water.

Majority of Filipinos are now aware of what’s actually happening in the country due to social media users from all over the country who were able to reveal the truth.

Reportedly, Trillanes stated that he was ready to be arrested, but he added, he would not be silenced. Trillanes even went abroad to inform people of the alleged human rights violation of the current administration.

Overseas Filipino workers and families; however, defended President Duterte and some debated with the senator on his misleading pronouncements.

In another interview, watch how BBC Hard Talk’s host Stephen Sackur brought to light the genuine intentions of Trillanes in speaking against the Philippine government. YouTube video is courtesy of BBC.
