Twitter Updates Helped in Search of DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo; Reactions and Comments on Twitter and Facebook on His Demise

MANILA, Philippines – Twitter, the social micro-blogging site, has been of great help in the search for DILG Sec. Jesse M. Robredo and company. Through Twitter people came to know about other materials/divers that the search needed.

It is also through Twitter that updates about the search became known instantly. Upon the news that Sec. Robredo’s body was confirmed found, Baguio’s DILG director Evelyn Trinidad posted this in her official Facebook account:

“Palace: Secretary Mar Roxas announced that the body of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo was retrieved 800 meters from the shores and 130 feet deep at the ocean floor. He is confirmed dead and his body will be brought directly to Naga City. To all those who prayed with us, A MILLION THANKS. We have lost a good man but we will keep him in our hearts.

From the DILG City Field Office, we bid you goodbye SILG, rest assured we will carry your dreams for the LGUs.”

Likewise, people trooped to Twitter and Facebook to express their condolences and words of comfort to the Robredo family.
