“Thank You Teacher”, DepEd’s Way of Honoring Teachers through Twitter

MANILA, Philippines – Today, October 5, is World  Teacher’s Day and the Department of Education or DepEd honors teachers through online media.

DepEd encourages students to tweet messages to/about their teachers via the hashtag “#Thank YouTeacher” on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.



As World Teacher’s Day is celebrated around the world, teachers from different regions of the country joined in one theme:  “My Teacher, My Hero.”

Reportedly, this theme focuses on the teacher’s vital role in the community, not only as an educator, but as a significant part in molding families and future leaders.

In Pakistan, the slogan “Take a stand for teachers!” gave birth to the recognition of the valuable services of teachers.

All over the world, Teacher’s Day is celebrated to honor these modern day heroes, while in locally, President Noynoy Aquino tweets this message on Twitter:
