MANILA, PhilippinesSenator Bong Revilla and actor Phillip Salvador, together with local officials, welcome Manny Pacquiao back home as he arrives at the NAIA 2, this December 12, 2012.

Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao just came from the US after losing a fight with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez. They are only two of the throng of politicians, celebrities, and fans who went to the airport to welcome Manny.

Reportedly, Sen. Bong Revilla expressed his belief that Manny would be able to rise again from his loss.

“Naniniwala ako na babangon si Manny. Babangon ulit siya.” (I believe that Manny would recover. He will rise again.)

In spite of his loss, Filipinos and Pacquiao fans all over the world, however, believe that he is still the champion. Pacman was leading on points when that “lucky punch” hit him straight to his face.

Mommy Dionisia, Manny’s mother, and his wife, Jinkee are all pleading that he hangs his gloves, but many are also clamoring for him to fight Marquez again.

Manny Pacman Pacquiao has a hero’s welcome in Manila and in General Santos City too, as Filipinos show their utmost support for their Pambansang Kamao. He would celebrate his son’s birthday on December 12, and his own birthday on December 17.

They were interviewed by local TV, and Jinkee expressed again her concern for her husband, saying his loss had made their bond stronger.

Manny, on the other hand, did likewise by saying “We’re soulmates.”

Manny Pacquiao said:

“Sa buong sambayanang Filipino, salamat sa mga dasal ninyo.” (To the whole Filipino nation, thanks for your prayers.)

It is evident that Manny Pacquiao still wants to fight, while his family does not want him too. What would eventually happen? It’s a question that is still left hanging.

Fans believe Pacman would capture the glory again, though. No matter what happens, he remains to be one of boxing’s greatest legends.

He will always remain the People’s Champ.
