MANILA, Philippines – Although Miss Philippines, Angelee Delos Reyes, did not win, she was still in the Top 8 of the competition. Reactions to Miss Philippines being on Top 8 were of gladness that she still made it in the Top 10 of Miss Earth contenders. Miss Venezuela is Miss Earth, with Austria, Thailand and Korea as runners-up.
The other countries in the Top 8 were Mexico, Poland, and Serbia.
In the Q & A portion, the question for Miss Philippines was:
“It’s been a month since Haiyan hit the Philippines how do you think mother Earth feels now?”
The answer of Miss Philippines was:
“I feel that mother earth is really sad. I think typhoon Yolanda happened as a wake-up call for us to realize that we must take care of one another, and we must take care of one another for the generations to come.”
