A lass of Filipino descent, Airel Ruadil, has won the Top Prize in the Laramie Spelling Bee in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and had earned one of the five spots in the State Spelling Bee that would be held in Rock Springs. This is according to wyomingnews.com.

Ariel is in 5th grade at the Alta Vista Elementary School, and the daughter of Kerry and Arvin Ruadil, both, originally from the Philippines.

Airel Ruadil had spelled “Freudian” – her last word – correctly, to earn the top spot in the contest. Even at a young age, Airel had demonstrated great interest in reading, and was precocious for her age.

Would Airel Ruadil win the State Spelling Bee Contest? Just as Filipinos all over the world cheered for Jessica Sanchez, Charice, Manny Pacquiao, Arnel Pineda, and X Factor’s Israel winner, Rose Fostanes, they would also be cheering for her and hoping she would win.

Good luck, Airel, bring home the bacon.
