The PNoy Aquino government is going overboard (again) when they defended the president’s Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), which was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. The Palace stated that “unconstitutional is not criminal” and that it was done in good faith. Meanwhile, an ongoing poll of whether PNoy Aquino should be impeached or not is being conducted online by Philstar, a leading new site. To date, majority of voters are in favor of the Philippine president’s impeachment.
The pronouncements of PNoy Aquino regarding DAP are dangerous. It’s just like declaring that anyone can violate the constitution, as long as they do it in good faith. To think that the president just proclaimed, through national TV, that he did not approve of the inclusion of Philippine cinema’s one and only Superstar, Nora Aunor, to the National Artist Award because he would be giving a wrong message to the Filipino people about drug use.
