Meanwhile, the government is expected to respond to this transportation strike as soon as possible to normalize the situation.

According to Crisis24:

“Unionized drivers and operators of passenger jeepneys, UV Express, and multicabs led by Samahang Manibela Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon, also known as Manibela, plan to stage a nationwide strike in the Philippines, Oct. 16. The purpose of the action is to protest the alleged corruption of the chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in the approval of the franchise for public utility vehicles (PUVs). Organizers estimate around 240,000 traditional jeepney drivers are expected to join the strike. Participation will be highest in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon in the Calabarzon Region, and Central Luzon Region.”

Reportedly, rallies are planned to take place at the LTFRB central office, at the Malacanang Palace, and at the Department of Transportation (DOT).
