Jessica Sanchez and Kirby Asunto’s excellent performance of the U.S. and Philippines’ National Anthems respectively was overshadowed by Bradley’s win against Pacquiao. According to reports, the decision was the worst in boxing history.
Up to this time, boxing fans and experts are still in shock and disbelief about the split decision. Floyd Mayweather Sr., himself reportedly stated that Pacquiao won the fight.
Celebrities like Mario Lopez, Jessica Sanchez, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Timberlake took to Twitter to express their disgust.
This reaction has overshadowed Jessica and Kirby’s great performance of the national anthems.
Both of them rendered perfect performances, with no wrong notes and distracting embellishments, which singers sometimes do.
Jessica was cheered the most because people knew her already as the runner-up in American Idol season 11.
Kirby on the other hand, won praises too because she sang “Lupang Hinirang” as it should be sung – a marching song.
