Jessica Sanchez, American Idol 2012 Runner-up, met Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III, nicknamed PNoy at the Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles Airport on Friday, June 8, 2012. This was revealed by local news. The president is in the U.S.for an official visit.
President Noynoy, who had been a staunch supporter of Jessica during the American Idol Season 11 run, had informed the 16 year-old diva that she had the support of Filipinos during the competition.
Jessica Sanchez and President PNoy also talked about Jessica’s scheduled American Idol LIVE Tour in the Philippines, with the rest of the American Idol 2012 Top 10 contestants. Phillip Phillips, the winner of the competition, is expected to join the group.
Reportedly, President PNoy gave Jessica a yellow wrist band with his nickname, “PNoy,” engraved in it. He also said that Jessica might want to learn Tagalog in preparation for her tour in the Philippines.
