The Pinoy skater had an early lead during the first few contestants but was outranked eventually by the older and more experienced Olympic skaters.

Michael Christian Martinez’s inclusion in the Top 24 is a momentous event, however, because he was the youngest and the lone entry from Southeast Asia who has advanced to Top 19. He made history at the Sochi Winter Olympics for his home country, the Philippines.
