The Facebook Password Laws are enacted in 5 US States upholding the right of employees not to allow employers access into their social media accounts. This was revealed by various international reports this December 31, 2012.

The State of Michigan has already enacted the Facebook Password Laws last December 2012.

The 5 US States where the Facebook Password Laws are enacted are the following:

  • California
  • Delaware
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • New Jersey

The FB Law will take effect this 2013.

Facebook is a social media site that has millions of users who use the site as a means of socializing online, uploading photos and videos (some of them private) for friends or family. Twitter operates a little bit differently because it uses 140 words only to communicate with other users.

Sometimes, there are many private information that employees would rather not want their employers to see. Hence, the Facebook Password Law is a welcome item in almost everyone’s agenda.
