MANILA, Philippines – Classes are suspended today, Thursday, August 2, 2012 (GMT+8) in all schools and all levels in San Ildefonso and Obando as announced by DepEd.
No classes today in Baguio City in all levels as announced by City Mayor Mauricio Domogan. Likewise, Governor Fongwan suspended classes in Benguet in all levels in both private and public schools.
In Imus and Ternate Cavite, classes are suspended in the pre-school and elementary levels in both private and public schools. No classes also in Bacoor, Cavite in preschool-highschool in both private and public schools.
In Concepcion Malabon, classes are suspended in the pre-school and highschool level at the Immaculate Concepcion Parochial School.
In Malabon, classes are also suspended in preschool – highschool in both private and public schools in barangays Dampalit, San Agustin, Longos, Panghulo, Tonsuya, and Tañong.
The suspension of classes in these areas is because of floods caused by continuous rains due to typhoon Gener. As of this afternoon, Typhoon Gener is outside the Philippines’ area of responsibility, but floods and intermittent rains still exist.
