A boy, Sonny Carter, from England found a WWII bomb by making use of his metal detector gift during Christmas. This was reported by Yahoo news, January 2, 2013. The boy tried his new detector, and he was able to detect a vintage WWII practice bomb.

The Royal Air Force, reportedly, responded and the item proved to be a WWII practice bomb. They found out that it did not contain any explosives.

Meanwhile, in some parts of the globe, fireworks were brilliantly displayed, just like in the London and Sydney Firework displays.

In the Philippines, more than a hundred casualties, most of them children, were reported injured during the New Year’s Eve celebration. Official reports showed though, that the casualties in 2012 were lesser than those in 2011.
