People often feel anxious when major events happen in their lives. There will be several times you would feel the same way too. Here are some steps to help you redirect your anxiety and gain control over it.
Psyche yourself positively
The mind is a powerful tool in determining how you act to certain situations. That is why you have to psyche yourself that there is no need to worry unnecessarily. Picture yourself as being successful at the end of the activity. Believe in yourself. Believe that you can do it, and you would surely be able to cope with your anxiety.
Remember that if you fail, it is not the end of the world
Remembering that it would not be the end of the world if you fail, put things in their proper perspective. If you are anxious because of an exam, then failure would not put an end to the world. It means that whatever is causing you that anxious feeling is not worth worrying about.
Coping with stress needs you to look at reality that what most men worry about, do not really take place. Convert your anxiety into a driving force so you could be up on your toes.

Prepare yourself well
If an event makes you nervous, preparing well for it would make you less anxious because you know you have prepared well for it. Do your best and you would feel more confident and less anxious because you have alternative actions for all the contingencies.

Breathe in deeply with your nose, then hold it for 10 seconds and then breathe out forcefully with your mouth. Do this ten to twenty times. As you breathe in and breathe out. Instruct yourself mentally to relax. Start with your toes going upwards to your head.
Feel your muscles relax and grow heavy. You could do quick breathing exercises just before an event that makes you anxious.
When you feel relaxed, your anxiety lessens and you would be able to cope with it. You should learn to cope because life is full stressful situations and if you do not know how to cope with it, then you would eventually become a nervous wreck.
