This New Year, we should strive to change the way we look for the better, especially if we are married couples. It is natural for people to judge a person initially based on his or her appearance. Even when people look for partners in life, they observe the external appearance of an intended mate. That was why the quotation,” Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” came to be.

Take your case, you may have chosen your partner because of that beautiful smile. Being able to find a partner is a victory and a self-affirmation that you are good enough to attract someone of the opposite sex.

It does not mean however, that you should stop being attractive. In fact, it should be the opposite; you should do your best to maintain that “attractiveness” because what you already have might slip away from your fingers. Love is like a plant that has to be nurtured and not left alone to survive on its own. It is a competitive world out there so you have to be on your toes all the time. In this aspect, you should take pride in your appearance even after marriage, because of the following reasons:

Your appearance is one of the factors that your partner first considered when he fell for you. Take good care of it. With the onset of increased divorce rates, wife swapping, and infidelity, it is imperative that each couple should use all reliable means to avoid this untoward event.

Staying physically attractive boosts one’s self confidence. When you know that you still look good, healthy and beautiful, you feel you can conquer any marital problem that comes your way. This would show in your family relationships. A positive vibe exudes from you and would affect your spouse and other family members.

You owe it to yourself to put your best foot forward. Be the best of what you can be no matter where you are.

Everyone loves beauty. Being neat, clean and presentable is beauty. It need not be the perfect facial features or the perfect whistle-bait figure, but it is primarily how you carry your imperfect body. It also means being able to bring out the best in your external appearance and make the “not-so-presentable” go unnoticed.

Taking pride in your appearance denotes that you know what you are and what you want in life. It indicates that you are happy with your spouse and with your family.

These are just some of the significant reasons why you should take pride in your appearance. There are countless more reasons that you can come up with based on your own experience and background.
