MANILA, Philippines – Daddy’s Home made it to Top 8 on the X Factor Philippines reality TV singing competition, last Sunday, August 26, 2012.
Daddy’s Home is composed of four dads, Dr. Eric Dacanay, Herbert “Ebet” Silonga, Jerome Icatar, and Allan Mitchell Silonga, all God-fearing dads, who only want the best for their kids and their families.
Since the start, they had earned praises from the judges Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pilita, and Charice with their audition song “Sana Maulit Muli.”
The song was previously sang by Mr. Pure Energy himself, Gary Valenciano.
Their audition was one of the favorites because the group was likened to Boyz II Men. So when the audience demanded for more, they sang Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You.”
Out of thousands who auditioned, they came out triumphant. Since then, they have wowed the audience and judges at Boot Camp, where the Top 20 X Factor contestants were selected, and during the Top 12 selection, when they made it through again with flying colors.
The group was mentored by the best judge, Gary Valenciano. It was during the 3rd week that Daddy’s Home was unexpectedly found at the Bottom 2 of the X Factor Philippines competition.
The members of the band have perfect tones, so it was shocking to find them at the bottom 2. These things happen though, when online voting is involved. If fans had forgotten to vote for their favorites, then their idols would be left behind.
Being at the bottom 2, forced them to have a showdown with the other group, AKA JAM. Gary V., who mentored the 2 groups, had a Herculean task selecting which group to send home.
AKA JAM is also one of the talented groups. Daddy’s Home was saved. Apparently, their “mission” on the X Factor Philippines show is not over yet.
On their official Facebook page, a picture is posted, which stated that the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) appreciates the music of Daddy’s Home. This is obviously in support of one of its members, Dr. Eric Dacanay.
