What to Expect from the BTS’ New Chapter

BTS announced to their ARMY that they would concentrate more on their solo activities in the next months during a FESTA dinner.

This news exploded online drawing many major outlets to declare that BTS will be on “hiatus”.

It’s as if they were so excited to share this perceived disbandment of the band. Antis, mantis, and haters feasted on the news like vultures – even stock shares of HYBE took a drastic fall.

Perhaps, they had the notion that other groups could take BTS’ place. But this will never happen as BTS is a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon that could never be duplicated because of various reasons that only ARMYs could understand.

(You may want to read why BTS is different from other groups to understand more.)

RM (Kin Namjoon), BTS” leader came on Weverse again to reiterate what he said earlier that they will regroup again after focusing more on themselves through their individual endeavors. This would allow them to grow more as individuals and bring out their creative juices when they get back as a group.

Jungkook, BTS’ main vocals, also came on Vlive to stress that the band is NOT disbanding, although Suga had already said this during their previous announcement on FESTA.

Very few media outlets corrected their previous headlines. Obviously, these were all clickbaits.

Everything went back to normal when BTS appeared on award shows singing their new songs, Yet to Come and For Youth. Their performances were a refreshing and dynamic change that the fandom loved so much. They were standing still and moving less but their vocal prowess and performances were outstanding.

Just yesterday BTS new album “Proof” topped the BB200 charts, making the new album BTS’ 6th #1 on the BB200 charts.

Despite BB’s new rules trying to suppress BTS’ domination over their charts, Yet to Come charted at #1 on BB’s Global and #2 on BB’s Global 200 charts.

What can ARMYs expect from BTS in their new chapter?

1. Of course, more solo activities

In congruence with BTS’ announcement, there will be more solo events.

Jungkook will be releasing “Left and Right”, his new collaboration with US singer Charlie Puth on June 24, 2022.

V (Kim Taehyung) will be with the Wooga Squad in a spin-off of BTS In the Soop variety show on July 22, 2022. The Wooga Squad is composed of Kim Taehyung, Wooshik, Seojoon, Park Hyungsik, and Peakboy.

J-Hope – Jung Hoseok will headline Chicago’s Lollapalooza on July 28-31, 2022.

Kim Seokjin, perhaps, will be starring in a romcom movie or series reminiscent of Spring Day’s video.

RM is an impressive lyricist and composer so he may produce his solo album with new songs.

Jimin’s latest collaboration with Ha Sung Woon has topped the BB’s Hot Trending Songs until the group’s Yet to Come took its place.

Suga (Min Toongi)’s latest collaboration with Psy has charted on the Hot 100 songs in the US and is still doing well. He’s one of the favorite producers of other artists, so he would be expected to be producing more solo songs or collabs with others.

2. Some members may diversify to acting

V had previously appeared in Hwarang a K-drama series, so most likely, he would be invited to appear in films.

Jin had been an aspiring actor before BTS, so he may also receive and accept acting roles.

Jungkook could also be included in this group as some TV personalities noticed that he has the looks of an actor.

Since they have been joining in composing songs for their group, each would surely focus on producing their solo songs, with their own solo albums.

That would be 7 times 7 content pleasures for ARMY.

4. Naturally, each BTS member would have more private times with their own families. So, they may prefer to go on vacation with family members and friends and just have fun and relax.

These are my personal expectations, but I would welcome and support anything the BTS members decide to do.

What about you, what are your expectations from each BTS member?
