This is Week 5’s Recap on the X Factor USA, November 29, 2012. Paige Thomas and Vino Alan were voted off from the show.
Paige Thomas was automatically eliminated when she got the lowest votes after public voting was counted.
Vino Alan and Diamond White were then at the Bottom 2, so they had a showdown. Vino sang “Trouble” while Diamond sang “I was here.”
The X Factor judges voted, and Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and Britney Spears voted for Vino Alan to go home, while L.A. Reid voted for Diamond White to go home.
During the November 28, 2012 performance night, Paige Thomas was praised by the judges, while Vino Alan’s performance was labeled “boring” by the judges, except L.A. Reid.
Diamond White’s rendition of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” was highly lauded by the X Factor USA judges.
This indicates that your performance could be good and still be voted off if you have no active fans to vote for you.
As expected, Carly Rose Sonenclar wowed the judges again, with her rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”
Cece Frey, who usually was given a difficult time by the judges during past performances, was accorded kind words for her song “Lady Marmalade.”

On Week 6, December 5 & 6, one contestant would be eliminated based on public votes, and then the next Bottom 2 would have a showdown.
The theme for Week 6 is “Pepsi Challenge” songs. The songs are not specified, except that these should be songs that would help the X Factor USA 2012 contestants get to the finals.
The celebrity guests are Kesha and X Factor’s 1st Season winner, Melanie Amaro.
