Pinays, 4th Power group and Neneth Lyons, have advanced to the Boot Camp round on the X factor UK reality TV singing competition.

The Pinays belonged to the same group that included: Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw, Louisa Johnson, Jasmine Leigh Morris and Andre Batchelor during the Group Rounds.

The group covered Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, and with their powerful voices and outstanding stage presence, the judges – including Simon Cowell – have to vote for them to advance to the next round.

There was an early controversy about the 4th Power being considered as professional singers because of the group’s immense exposure, but it has died down when it became known that 4th Power is still considered a newbie in the Philippine entertainment industry. The fact that the reality TV show was aware of all the groups’ undertakings has also settled the doubts.

The Pinays have the talent and voice that can bring them all the way to the final round. But, luck could also play an important factor.

The singing talent of Filipinos cannot be discounted. This is proven by Marlisa Punzalan, who won the X Factor Australia competition, and by Rose Fontanes, who won the X Factor Israel competition.

Will another Filipina win the X Factor UK this year?

Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
