Top 8 American Idol finalists perform for a spot on the Top 7 contestants next week. Judge Mariah Carey said of the performances on Twitter:

Angie Miller continues to earn admiration from the judges; Judge Keith Urban said to her.
“Your talent is undeniable.”
Judge Nicki Minaj said to Burnell Taylor, after he sang “”My Cherie Amour“:
“It’s very artsy to watch and hear you sing.”
Devin Velez performed “The Tracks of My Tears,” which Nicki loved.
Janelle Arthur sang “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” which was done beautifully disproving all her critics. Janelle has been ranked below Top 3.
The Top 3 contestants last week were Kree Harrison, Candice Glover and Angie Miller. Kree Harrison sang “Don’t Play That Song,” and Judge Randy Jackson was all praises, saying:
“You are one of the best in the competition.”
It seems the girls are going strong. Do we see a girl-champion this American Idol season? From the way the trend is going – most probably.
