Predicting the Top 3 American Idol 2012 can be a Herculean task as established actual numbers, audience impact, and judges’ comments are no longer reliable markers for the Top 3 AI predictions.
This has been demonstrated by the shocking near elimination of Jessica Sanchez last April 12 results show. If she had not been saved by the judges, then it would have been the end to her American Idol journey.
For sure, she will have offers even then, because of her singing talent, but that event is enough to conclude that the praises from the AI judges, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson are not guarantees for a contestant to be voted by viewers.
It was surprising, as well, because Jessica was one of the leaders in “followers” and “likes” in social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
The same thing happened to Colton Dixon, who was never listed at the bottom 3 of American Idol. He also leads “followers” and “likes” at Twitter and FB, but he was still eliminated. It was Colton’s first and last time to belong to the AI’s bottom 3. It was a shocker to all viewers who had expected him to be in the Top 3 American Idol 2012 finals.
After the remaining Top 6 AI contenders Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine perform their songs by the popular British rock band, Queen, one would be eliminated. Who would it be?
Predictions of the Top 3 American Idol contenders can no longer be based only on the AI judges’ comments, vocal prowess, and popularity with audience. It should also consider the diligence of each AI’s fans to vote for their idols. The question would then be: “Who among the American Idol fans would vote the most next week?”
