She continues to reign as TV’s Primetime Queen with a new show entitled “Carmela.” Her selection as FHM Philippines’ Sexiest Woman for 2013 has been re-affirmed by her being chosen as the Cover Girl for Thailand’s FHM magazine too. On Yahoo’s search engine for 2013, she was ranked second to Megan Young.
Top 2- Megan Young
Before Megan Young was crowned Miss World, she was one of the StarStruck Top 6 finalists, and had become an actress and TV host on two leading local networks, GMA7 and then ABS-CBN. She was the most searched celebrity, ranking Top 1 on Yahoo’s search engine, and 5th on Google Search when she was selected as the country’s candidate to the Miss World Beauty Pageant.
Top 3- Nora Aunor
Nora Aunor may not be on the Top 10 of local searches, but the one and only Superstar has been hugging the international limelight, since she starred in “Thy Womb.” Up to this year, 2013, her film “Thy Womb” has received and is continuing to reap praise and honor for the country. The film garnered several international Best Actress trophies for Nora as Shaleha, and Best Director awards for its director, Brillante Mendoza from prestigious award giving organizations.
Top 4 – Arnel Pineda
Arnel Pineda has been making news abroad with his awesome performances as lead vocals of the legendary rock band, Journey, in his Live Tours in America, Europe and Asia. Locally, he is one of the iconic singers on ASAP’s ABS-CBN. Journey thru Arnel Pineda made international news also when the band actively participated in sending financial aid to the Yolanda (Haiyan) victims. Arnel was featured on international TV with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. He has, also, his own charitable organization, APFI, which distributed goods in Tacloban, and recently in Sitio Cataquiz, and other needy areas. His inspiring documentary film, “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” is currently making the rounds in selected theaters worldwide. The film won various Audiences’ Award all over the world.

Charice has been thrown in the limelight again because of her relationship with another girl. Her reported squabble with her mother has made some news. Her fans have been supportive amidst all her personal problems though, and her enormous talent has made her an icon in the music industry. Wally Bayola is a comedian and a TV host on GMA7’s “Eat Bulaga.” He became a headliner when an alleged sex video of him and EB Babe dancer Yosh Rivera went viral online. Bayola is married with 5 children. He was sent on temporary leave from the network because of the sex scandal, and actor-comedian, Bossing Vic Sotto, has expressed his forgiveness of Wally Bayola’s infractions, but he said Bayola has to apologize publicly first. Wally Bayola was 5th in both Google and Yahoo Searches.
Top 7 – Anne Curtis
Anne Curtis has the most followers on Twitter, as Anne Curtis-Smith, with 5, 821,426 followers, to date. Tagged on Twitter as the People Asia’s National Sweetheart, presumably, she would be the most RTed (retweeted) local celebrity, making her an online viral news celebrity. She has been active with blockbuster films and concerts locally and abroad, as well. The recent news of her ‘slapping incident’ of actor John Lloyd Cruz one night, while she was drunk, has gone viral too, making her the headline news for several days. Later on, Anne Curtis apologized, saying, she was only human to commit mistakes.
Top 8 – Chito Miranda
Chito Miranda, lead vocalist of the band, Parokya ni Edgar, made it to the headlines when a raunchy video of him and his girlfriend, Neri Naig, went viral online. The videos were deleted when Chito was apparently dead-set on discovering who the culprit was. Reportedly, Chito has proposed marriage to Neri Naig recently. Actress, TV Host KC Concepcion has been a newsmaker yearly. She is on the Top 5 local celebrities with the most Twitter followers. Her hosting stint with The Voice of the Philippines reality TV singing contest had demonstrated her sterling hosting capabilities. Her relationships have been a source of news too, for the gorgeous actress, but she said, she is still single. Recently, KC Concepcion’s film entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival, “Boy Golden” has been expected to win for KC the Best Actress plum, but unluckily, Maricel Soriano won the Best Actress Award.

Gary Valeciano has always been a newsmaker, but last month, a selfie video featuring him and his son, Gabriel, went viral on YouTube with more than 1 million views, to date. The video shows the dad, Gary, dancing agilely with his son, Gaby. International viewers were asking who the father was between the two because the older Valenciano was as energetic as the younger one.
