It’s Week 8 of X Factor UK 2012 Performance Show, this Saturday, November 24, 2012. The Top 5 performed and the voting lines are opened.

The theme for the week were ABBA and Motown songs, and the Top 5 X Factor UK contestants performed the following songs.

Simon Cowell tweets:

“To everyone voting in the uk tonight. Please vote for who you believe could be a star next year. It’s in your hands.”

Rylan Clark sang “Mamma Mia” for his first song, and a medley of Motown songs for his second song. Rylan was his usual “entertaining” self. Judges’ comments:

Judge Contostavlos said: “A brilliant song choice!”

Judge Walsh said: “It’s week 8 and you’re still here.”

Judge Nicole Scherzinger: “That’s the way you start a show.”

Even Gary Barlow had to give in to Rylan’s charms.

Union J sang “The Winner Takes It All” first and then “I’ll Be There” for their second song.

Judge Tulisa Contostavlos said: “The vocals are on point tonight.”

“This was your best night tonight.”

Jahmene Douglas performed “I Have a Dream” for his ABBA song and “The Tracks of My Tears” for his Motown song.

James Arthur sang “SOS” for ABBA, and “Let’s Get It On.” The judges were all praises for his original rendition of the classic song.

“You made the song your own.”

“You take a classic and you totally made it your own.”

“I don’t want to see James Arthur in the Bottom 2 again.”

“You’re a real world class talent.”

“You are like hot butter that melts in our mouths.”

The ABBA song was almost unrecognizable with James Arthur’s performance.

Christopher Maloney performed “Fernando” for ABBA, and “Dancing on the Ceiling.”

“That was a beautiful theatrical piece.”

The celebrity guests for Week 8 are Rihanna and Bruno Mars, with “Diamonds”, and “Locked Out of Heaven” respectively.
