The reactions of the celebrity judges and viewers to the elimination of A.K.A. JAM from the X Factor Philippines reality TV show on August 19, 2012, was one of shock. This is because A.K.A. JAM was considered one of the strongest contenders of the competition.
The group is composed of individual contestants who auditioned for the show, and whom the judges chose to group together for the Top 20, after Boot Camp. So, you could just imagine the raw talent each of them has.
A.K.A. JAM is composed of Monique Lualhati, Ashley Campbell, Alyssa Quijano, Jhelsea Maine Flores, Katrina Velarde, and Auriette Divina.
The judges were shaking their heads, unable to believe the results. It took a long time for them to decide, most especially with Gary Valenciano, their mentor, who was speechless for several minutes not knowing whom to choose between his two groups.
Gary called them his “children”, and he was teary-eyed after he selected A.K.A. JAM to go home. It was a heart-rending moment. Gary went on stage to assure the group and their fans that it was not the end of the road for A.K.A. JAM.
Most viewers shared the X Factor Philippines judges’ reaction. At the back stage of X factor, people were so quiet, and many were crying.
Reportedly, Kiana, Gary V’s daughter, hugged her dad after the show, apparently to comfort him.
Even people abroad tweeted Gary, and Angeli, Gary’s wife, expressing their dismay and disbelief over A.K.A. JAM’s elimination. Some offer words of comfort to both.
Angeli tweeted from her official Twitter account:
“This has got to be one of the most difficult seasons in @GaryValenciano1 ‘s career.”Not by might nor by power but by His Spirit.” #God‘sWill”
Angeli also said this to people who may harbor negative thoughts on their minds.
Gary Valenciano also tweeted:
Husband and wife are staunch Christians and their integrity and character shine through this shocking incident in their lives.
The result is a wake-up call for fans not to be confident about their favorite contestants on X Factor; they should take the time and effort to vote for them.
