Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez performed a duet, “Up Where We Belong,” during the American Idol 2012 Finale last May 23. The song, “Up Where We Belong” was originally sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes.

Jessica & Phillip’s duet was not “outstanding” but it was great to listen to. Each has his/her own genre of music, but they did good singing together.

After the American Idol finale crowning him as the winner, Phillip Phillips guested on Jay Leno. The audience loved him. They said he was funny, sincere and real.

Phillip talked about bringing something to the reality singing TV show by being himself and not getting affected by Hollywood stuff.

Meanwhile American Idol runner-up, Jessica Sanchez would surely be signing a record deal too, like winner Phillip. There are several recording companies lining up to sign her up. Reports disclosed that Akon, Jimmy Iovine, and Jesse McCartney are among these interested parties.

Below is the YouTube video of Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez singing “Up Where We Belong” during the American Idol 2012 Finale.

Phillip was eventually proclaimed the winner. Watch this touching video.
