MANILA, Philippines – Filipina superstar, Nora Aunor, won the Best Actress for “Thy Womb” at the 2012 Asia-Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). This was disclosed by Director Brillante Mendoza on Friday, November 23, 2012, and tweeted by fans via Twitter.
Director Brillante Mendoza also won Best Director for the same movie, which was screened in Australia.
Nora Aunor or Guy is an award winning actress, who had received recognition from prestigious institutions like FAMAS, URIAN, Film Academy of the Philippines, and many more award giving bodies.
Guy was one of the 10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade in 2010 from the Green Planet Movie Awards, an international body.
She was the Best Actress in the Cairo International Film Festival for “The Flor Contemplacion Story in 1995.” Her movies “Bona”, and ‘Himala” are two of her critically acclaimed movies. These are only some of her achievements.
She is an outstanding singer too, with countless record hits to her name.
Presently, Nora Aunor has opted to focus on film-making as her voice is healing yet from a previous operation.
