Superstar Nora Aunor received the 2015 AIFFA Lifetime Achievement Award in the ASEAN region and is recognized by Hollywood as One of the Top 10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade.
During the live telecast of the 2015 ASEAN International Film Festival Awards (AIFFA), Nora Aunor was introduced appropriately.
“The recipient is selected from among the many ASEAN film makers cast and crew who contributed to the film industry locally and internationally.”
“There is someone among us here, who has swept more than 60 different awards, internationally. She has won Cannes. She has won at the Berlin International Film Festival. She has won international awards in Russia, Hongkong, Venice and Egypt, just to mention a few. We are very proud that she is from ASEAN, and when asked what her passion is, she nobly says: “I do films for what good it can bring to society.” She is recognized as One of the 10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade by Hollywood.”
The only Superstar of Philippine Cinema acknowledged her fans in her speech. The superstar became emotional in her speech saying:
“My fervent wish is for films made in the ASEAN region to continue being recognized internationally, more awards, more films, more and more support coming from each government. Films that value the society, films that raise social awareness and concerns, and films that still excite us to be inside the darkness of the movie theaters. Thank you to my fans for still believing in me through all the years…”
It’s the first time that a Filipino actress has won the AIFFA Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations Miss Nora Aunor.
