During the first season, Nathan Bautista performed one of Journey’s songs “Don’t Stop Believin”, and the YouTube video of his performance has reached 7,395,401views to date. This makes it the most viewed video of seasons 1 & 2 of the Voice Kids PH competition.
All three judges turned their chairs for Nathan’s rocking rendition of the song. Judge Lea Salonga was “overwhelmed” by his performance that she had to leave her chair and embrace Nathan.
Judge Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Mañalac were equally ecstatic of Nathan’s performance, as they danced and sang with him; the boy could very well be the future Arnel Pineda – Journey’s present lead vocals. Nathan Bautista selected Coach Bamboo as his mentor.
Nathan was undaunted even when he was eliminated during the Sing-off phase of the competition, and didn’t make it to the Grand Finals. The Grand Champion was Lyka Gairanod, with Darren Espanto as 1st runner up and Juan Carlos Labajo as 2nd runner up.
Coincidentally, the song, “Don’t Stop Believin”, made history for Journey too for being the Most Downloaded Song of the 20th Century.
