Journey, the Legendary Rock Band, is currently nominated for two CMT Awards “Performance of the Year” with another rock band, Rascal Flatts, for the song “Don’t Stop Believin‘” from CMT Crossroads; and “Collaborative Video of the Year“, with Rascal Flatts, for “Changed.”
Journey has unbelievable staying power for remaining “alive and kicking” in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. Lead vocalist, Arnel Pineda, has continued the band’s amazing achievement by earning another feather to its cap as the World Band to beat.
After Journey’s Asian tour ended last March, Another UK and US tour is scheduled starting May 16 to September 2013. The band has been performing in places it had never performed before, even during its height of popularity with original singer, Steve Perry. During Steve Perry‘s stint, the band has performed only in the US and Japan.
Lead guitarist Neal Schon, stated in an interview that it was great for the band because they have “new stomping grounds.” Since the discovery of Filipino lead singer, Arnel Pineda, by Neal Schon, the band was entirely rejuvenated and has captured the magic back that was there during Steve Perry’s time with Journey.
Arnel Pineda has an awesome stage presence and showmanship that is unmatched. Numerous people in the audience attest to the fact that it was amazing watching him perform live than watching him on TV or YouTube. The rock singer exudes a compelling passion, thrilling aura and undeniable charm with each of his performances.
The other candidates for the “Collaborative Video of the Year” category are Brad Paisley and Joe Walsh; Jason Aldean with Luke Bryan and Eric Church, ; Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw; The Avett Brothers and Randy Travis; Kelly Clarkson and Vince Gill.
