Heley Vanessa Bayot sang “Kahit Isang Saglit” on X Factor, and this made X Factor judge Martin Nievera cry.
The song was previously sung by popular singer Martin Nievera, and was composed by Louie Ocampo.
Heley Vanessa is 18 years old, and has returned home from Las Vegas to fulfill her dreams of becoming a singer. She sang the song beautifully, and with such emotion that Martin was teary eyed.
“That was beautiful. We are both tearing,”
Martin said, and then went on to relate the story behind the composition of the song by Louie Ocampo.
According to Martin Nievera, Loiue composed the song for his newborn baby, whom he was not able to embrace while the baby was still alive.
This happened when Loiue’s wife gave birth prematurely. Louie had to rush to the hospital to be by his loved ones’ side, only to find out when he arrived that the baby had already died.
Martin said Heley’s thoughts were exactly what Louie was thinking when he composed the song – that of being given a chance to embrace a loved one and say “I love you” before he finally departs, “Kahit Isang Saglit” (even for a moment.)
Heley Vanessa was crying as well. She dedicated the song to her father who had died of cancer when she was still young.
“When I sing, I sing also for my step dad,” she revealed to everyone on the X Factor stage.
