It’s the birthday of J.R.R. Tolkien the famous author of the book series the “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.” He was born on January 3, 1892 in South Africa. His parents were English but it was believed their surname originated from Prussia.
J.R.R. stands for John Ronald Reuel. He was 81 years old when he died in England, but his writings still thrive under the able management of his son, Christopher. Christopher was responsible in publishing his father’s still unpublished work.
Recently, the film “The Hobbit,” which is a prequel of the “Lord of the Rings” had made history by topping the Box Office surpassing all the other films, such as, “Django Unchained.” “The Hobbit” is the story of Bilbo Baggins, Frodo’s mentor.
The new film “The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey” has opened in theaters last December 14, and has enjoyed tremendous popularity. The other two series “The Desolation of Smaug” and “There and Back Again” has been scheduled to be shown on December 13, 2013, and July 18, 2014, respectively.
