MANILA, Philippines – Gary Valenciano, Gary V to his fans, sang for Dolphy during the latter’s necrological service at ABS-CBN. “Salamat, Tito Dolphy, Pagsaludo sa Hari ng Komedya” (Thank you, Uncle Dolphy, a Salute to the King of Comedy) was also a tribute to the comedy superstar that Filipinos have loved throughout all the years.

Gary Valenciano, a popular singer-actor, and one of the hosts of X Factor Philippines, sang “Father’s Love” as a tribute to Dolphy.
Dolphy’s partner for more than 20 years, Zsa Zsa Padilla, also sang “Through the Years” for him.
Reportedly, the death of Dolphy united all the stars in Philippines’ cinema. Almost all of the superstars in showbiz were there paying tribute to the one and only King of Comedy. TV programs paid homage to the king as well, by offering a moment of silence and prayer for the superstar.
Even President Noynoy Aquino visited Dolphy’s wake, joining all Filipinos from all over the globe in remembering the gift of laughter that he has brought to millions of households all over the country.
Dolphy, Rodolfo Vera Quizon, died of lung disease, COPD, last Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
