The Oscars 2014 or Film Academy Awards seemed to be leaning more on political advocacy and social awareness. Best Supporting Actress winner, Lupita Nyong’o, declared exuberantly after receiving her award:
“No matter where you are from, know that your dreams are valid.”

Even Best Supporting Actor winner Jared Leto stated:
“To all dreamers… In Ukraine and Venezuela, we’re thinking of you tonight.”
Apparently, their statements have focused on a theme that no matter where people are and what they are, people are all the same.
U2’s song “Ordinary Love” from “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” demonstrates the Oscars propensity towards social awareness.
