MANILA, Philippines – Teen star, Daniel Padilla, is nominated as the New Movie Actor of the Year at the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC), for the 29th Star Awards for Movies 2013.
Daniel Padilla is labeled the “Crush ng Bayan”, and his rise to stardom has been phenomenal, with fans mobbing him wherever he goes. He has more than a million followers on Twitter, an extraordinary feat for a teen who has just started in showbiz. His love team with Kathryn Bernardo and Hope Soberano has been well-received by fans.
The rest of the nominees for the New Movie Actor of the Year are Jerico Estregan, RK Bagatsing, Marti San Juan, Neil Coleta, Markki Stroem and Diego Montano. May the best artist win.
Among the contenders, Daniel Padilla has a huge chance of winning because of his achievements. The movie he starred in during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2012, “Sisterakas” was the highest grossing film in the festival, and Daniel had surely contributed to the film’s impressive record.
It is not surprising that Daniel Padilla has a passion for music and the arts because he comes from a showbiz family, being the son of actor Rommel Padilla and actress Karla Estrada. He is also the nephew of popular action star, Robin Padilla. He performs with his band, “Parking 5”, every now and then, as a bassist.
His new, exciting movie with love team, Kathryn Bernardo, entitled “Must be Love” is to be shown in local theaters any day soon.
The awarding ceremony for the PMPC Star Awards for Movies 2013 is scheduled on March 17, 2013, at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo.
