American Idol season 11’s 7th finalist, Colton Dixon, announced on September 4, 2012 via a YouTube video that he finally signed with EMI/CMG Records.
“What’s up everybody? So you guys have been waiting patiently for this big announcement, and today is the day…” he said happily.
“I am beyond excited to say that I have signed with EMI/CMG/Sparrow Records as my record company.”
Colton’s original song, “Never Gone”, which he sang on the American Idol live tour would also be available on iTunes on September 25, 2012.
“I cannot wait for you guys to hear my new single…” he added.
His first single would be on the radio very soon too.
“I’m thrilled that it’s going on album, let alone being my first single…”
In his Twitter account Colton Dixon also stated that he indeed signed up with @sparrowrecords (EMI/CMG)

“So yes, it’s official. I signed a record deal with @sparrowrecords can’t wait to see what my future holds!!! “
