Aretha Franklin, the famous singer of various R&B, pop and gospel songs has died at 76. She was the undisputed Queen of Soul.
She popularized the songs “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, “Daydreaming”, “Respect,” “I Say a Little Prayer”, I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You), and many more R&B hits.
In 2005, Franklin was the first woman to be listed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was also the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which was the highest honor given to a civilian.
Aside from these, she had been a recipient of 18 Grammy Awards, which is one of the most impressive records for an R&B and soul singer.
Bill and Hilary Clinton expressed their condolences:
“She will forever be the Queen of Soul and so much more to all who knew her personally and through her music. Our hearts go out to her family and her countless fans.”
