The American Idol updates include the hosting of Carrie Underwood during the recently concluded CMA Awards 2012 (Country Music Awards 2012) on November 1, 2012, and Colton Dixon’s tour, as guest, with Third Day on their “Miracle Tour” starting February 21, 2012.

Carrie Underwood hosted the 2012 CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. She also sang her hit song “Blown Away” and was a nominee for the “Female Vocalist of the Year.“

Kelly Clarkson also performed a duet of the song, ‘Don’t Rush’, with Vince Gill in the same prestigious event.

On the other hand, Colton Dixon is one of the most successful American Idol alumni with his hit song “Never Gone.” He would be on tour with Third Day starting February 21, 2013 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

The “Miracle Tour” would be in 45 cities, and will end on May 10, 2013 at the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Together with Colton, as guest singer, is Josh Wilson.

Meanwhile, Phillip Phillips is to release his first album entitled, “The World From the Side of the Moon.” The American Idol season 11 winner is apparently thrilled to have his songs out there where fans could appreciate them.

Reportedly, Phillip Phillips composed 9 of the songs in the 12-song track, 4 by himself, and 5 in collaboration with other composers.
