The American Idol Season 12 auditions in San Antonio at the Alamodome had drawn out about 6,000 hopefuls, who would like to end up just like Phillip Phillips, the American Idol winner for season 12.

The thousands of hopefuls were given 22 seconds to make an impression on the judges assigned by Fox.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said they should not bore the judges to be able to proceed to the next phase of the audition.

Phillip Phillips won the recent season 11 American Idol, with Jessica Sanchez as his runner-up.

American Idol is undeniably the gold standard for reality TV singing competitions. Judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were not around.

Steven and Jennifer are busy preparing for their tours, and there are rumors that Jennifer Lopez may not be able to make it, allowing Katy Perry who may take her place, if ever, in season 12.

The next stop for the American Idol season 12 audition is at The Queen City, Charlotte, North Carolina. The complete address is:
Time Warner Cable Arena
333 East Trade Street
Charlotte, NC 28202
