According to American Idol’s Mike Darnell:

“It’s been a tremendous honor to have Steven – one of the most prolific artists in the world – on American Idol for the past two seasons. He’s been a terrific judge, a true friend and great mentor to everyone involved with the show, and we know he’ll continue to be a huge inspiration to IDOL hopefuls for years to come.”

Darnell went on to say that they would be happy to have Steven back in case he decides to return to American Idol.

Steven Tyler said that, although he had “loved every minute” of American Idol, he was quitting to concentrate on his music, with the legendary band, Aerosmith.

Aerosmith would be releasing their new album “Music from Another Dimension” on November 6, 2012.

As for Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, there are still no announcements. Rumors of Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, and Nicki Minaj as new American Idol judges are still unconfirmed by any of the parties involved.

Meanwhile, the American Idol auditions are on-going in different venues across the U.S., likewise with the American Idol 2012 summer tour.
