MANILA, Philippines – AlDub’s hashtag #ALDUBMostAwaitedDate posted on Twitter last September 19, 2015 has broken the World Record of 10 Million Tweets set by the hashtag #LoveWins. #LoveWins is the Twitter hashtag of the Supreme Court ruling to legalize gay marriages in the U.S.
The hashtag #ALDUBMostAwaitedDate has trended in the Philippines and Worldwide and was tweeted 12,125,300 as of 12 a.m. Sunday. This was the hashtag for the first date of actor TV host, Alden Richards, and DubSmash Queen, Main “Yaya Dub” Mendoza; tagged as the country’s National Love Team.
The hashtag is still being retweeted to date, as the ALDUB Nation (AlDub fans) can’t get over the exciting episode of the two love birds’ date last Saturday, September 19.
The AlDub fever continues to spread and infect people from all ages and from all walks of life, be it locally or internationally.

The next Twitter World Record that the AlDub nation can beat is One Direction’s splitting-up hashtag, #OneDirection, which has garnered 15 million tweets. Another Twitter World Record to beat is that of Ellen DeGeneres’ OSCAR selfie, which is officially the most retweeted message in Twitter history with over 3.3 million RTs (retweets).

The most retweeted event in Twitter history was that of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which generated 672 million messages about the event. This 2015, the Super Bowl XLIX, which was held in the U.S. earned 25.1 million tweets.
Perhaps, AlDub fans can break Ellen DeGeneres’ record of the “Most Retweeted Message” with 3.3 million (RTs) retweets?
Alden Richards @aldenrichards02 and Maine Mendoza @mainedcm’s tweets are favorited and retweeted by thousands of their fans. Perhaps if the AlDub Nation can unite and concentrate on retweeting one of Alden or Yaya Dub’s messages (tweets), they can break the 3.3 million RTs of Ellen DeGeneres. The same original message must be retweeted by more than 3.3 million people.
Local entertainment news reports stated that the hashtag #ALDUBMostAwaitedDate “might win a Guinness World Record for “Fastest Rising Worldwide Trend”.
Nevertheless, the World Record of the hashtag #LoveWins of 10 million tweets has been broken by the AlDub Nation’s hashtag #ALDUBMostAwaitedDate on September 19, 2015.
Should there be additional World Records awarded by Guinness, it would be an unprecedented feat in the Philippines’ entertainment industry.
