Star Wars’ creator George Lucas, 69, will receive the National Medal of Arts from US President Barrack Obama for his significant contribution to the movie industry. The awarding ceremonies would take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

George Lucas is one among 12 persons to receive the prestigious award from the White House. His significant contribution to the movie industry with iconic films such as “Star Wars”, and the “Indiana Jones’ series were among the momentous events in the film-making industry.

He received various awards for his “Star Wars” saga as Best Director and Best Film from the Golden Globe, Hugo, and many more award-giving bodies.
