Entertainment News

MANILA, Philippines – Local entertainment sites are abuzz with the news that international Pinay singer, Charice Pempengco, was spotted at some places sporting a new, short haircut, sans make-up.

Reportedly, Charice has finally revealed her real self. Fans could read in between the lines what this “real her” is all about. Her admission on national television about her true sexuality left no doubt in the minds of her fans though.

Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres, two of Charice’s celebrity “Godparents”, are apparently supportive of Charice’s decision to be whoever or whatever that would make her happy; but is it the right thing for Charice with regards to her entertainment career?

Would fans like her new image? Would they welcome the real Charice Pempengco? Oprah allegedly advised her to be strong; to be strong amidst ‘stones’ that could be hurled her way? Charice knows that she would have to surmount a mountain of ‘disapproval’ and perhaps ‘dismay’ from people who could not understand her plight.

Genuine fans would not mind though, because they would want only the happiness of their idols. So, those who are not able to support her decision are perhaps not her true fans. Because if they were, they would embrace everything about her, and understand why she has to follow the road she presently plods in.

Charice knows this and she said thank you to those who are still supporting her, and that she is “very, very happy.”

Charice’s case could be considered unique because there is no precedent in Philippine showbiz where a similar incidence happened.

Perhaps, Pinoy fans are now more tolerant and accepting of their idols’ true personalities.

To Charice:

May you have more successes in the future in Hollywood and in your singing career with your novel persona. Don’t mind judgmental people who are fond of casting judgment on other people’s speck in the eyes but fail to see the plank in their own eyes.
