In fact, there are several TV drama series, which made it big with Pinoy fans. “Dong Yi” and “Lie to Me” are only two of the numerous South Korean ‘teleseryes’ (TV series) that gained a sizable following.
There are quite a number of Koreans, who have started businesses in the Philippines, as well. Schools have also seen some increasing numbers of South Korean enrolees.
Generally, Koreans are thought to be good with numbers; they spend money wisely, and they are friendly. They are also more fashionable than their Northern counterpart.
With South Korea’s crucial rivalry with North Korea, one could not help but think how different these two Korean countries are. K-Pop has been dominating the world with Psy and his “Gangnam Style,” while North Korea has recently warned all foreigners in South Korea to leave because of an ensuing alleged nuclear war.
It is almost unthinkable to imagine. All those K-pop stars, Dong Yi actress, and the ‘Lie to Me’ cast participating in such destructive event. The Korean array of TV drama-series demonstrated love for family, for friends and for other people around them. They also showed how they value their word, and how they consider family as an anchor and support during times of sadness.

These headlines are scary, and it seems the world is on the brink of war. Meanwhile, some people who are blissfully unaware of the ‘explosive’ situation still continue to enjoy their dose of Psy and K-pop music, while Pinoys, Americans, and the whole world await with bated breath, and pray that South Korea and the world is spared from North Korea’s threats and internecine attitude.
