MANILA, Philippines – GMA-7 disclosed that a Valentine’s Day Concert of the Concert King and Queen, Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera, together with partners, the Songbird and Songwriter, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez is scheduled on Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Manila.
The “Foursome” Valentine’s Day Concert would be directed by Rowell Santiago.
This concert is simultaneously conducted with Jessica Sanchez’s concert at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on the same date- February 14.
Jessica Sanchez is the American Idol runner up in Season 11. She is half-Filipino, her mother originating from Bataan, in the Philippines. Jessica’s guest is Colton Dixon, who was the 7th placer of the singing competition.
Ogie Alcasid, who happens to be the president of OPM expressed his support for Filipino singers, saying that during the past years, producers and the audience supported foreign performers. Ogie would want the public to show also their support for Filipino artists and OPM.
Pinoy music has been made popular through the songs of the APO Hiking Society, Freddie Aguilar, Aegis, VST and Company, Rico J. Puno, Basil Valdez, Sharon Cuneta, Hotdogs, Ogie Alcasid, and many more.
Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez were previously married but are now separated. They were “sweet” to each other though, with Martin saying that Pops is more mature in her decisions now. They still looked good together- a lovely couple. They have two kids, Robin and Ram. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see them as a couple again on Valentine’s Day?
Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid have been married for two years on December 22, 2013. They have one child, Nathaniel.
The “Foursome” Valentine’s Day Concert would be a success for sure because of the four superb singers who would be performing together on stage for the first time.
