MANILA, Philippines – The burial rites of Dolphy, the country’s premier comedian, is said to be private, as local news reported the family’s desire, Saturday, July 14, 2012. Dolphy is survived by his 18 children.

Dolphy died Tuesday, July 10, due to COPD and its complications. Earlier, President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy) visited Dolphy’s wake at ABS-CBN.
Local showbiz celebrities had joined hands in praying for the repose of the legendary King of Comedy.
Singing superstar, Gary Valenciano sang in Dolphy’s wake, and Zsa Zsa Padilla also said goodbye to her partner with the song, “Through the Years.”
Dolphy would be buried on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 3 p.m. in Taguig at the Heritage Memorial Park.
Family members want the burial rites to be private and solemn and had requested the press and the public to respect their desire.
Public viewing of Dolphy’s remains; however, is allowed on Saturday, July 14, 2012, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
